A car with a fixed roof and two doors. No matter what Ford Marketing says, a truck is not a car.

What does that make a car with t-tops then?

Kinja'd!!! BmanUltima's car still hasn't been fixed yet, he'll get on it tomorrow, honest. > Slant6

Also State of North Carolina says car.

But it’s technically a car.

State of North Carolina doesn’t seem like they know what they’re talking about.

Would you register personal noncomercial vehicles by body type, or just give the same designation to all of them.

It actually says Radio Car, since I’m a ham.

Ontario registers them by body type.

I mean they know it’s a truck but it’s registered as a passenger car.

Yes. But don’t get overzealous and exclaim that to everyone you meet Slant6. You may not get the result you expect. :P

My F-100 is registered in Michigan as “PICKUP” bodystyle. Many states do this. It might even just say “PU”. In the extremely broad sense, “car” is short for “carriage” and pickup trucks are indeed motor carriages.

My Actual Physical Hardcover Dictionary describes a coupe as, “a closed two door automobile”. So, technically you are correct.

Or, as The Dude would say,

I ask myself that question periodically.
