So I have more time than I thought, I may do the sound in the Merc, I’ve had it partially installed for two years I think... just the rear deck speakers. I was thinking of covering the modern ones with the old set, if only partially. I’ve seen w123 medical kits turned into bass kickers. My dog attacked the box at some point. People tell me to get better speakers blah blah but my Marine Corps ears are not great so I won’t know the difference! So I think some permanent bond VHB tape will secure that or maybe so drops of mastic under there. I don’t really want to go through drilling and mounting them through the old screw holes. I just think these new speakers look too modern, but they are two speakers in one so I thought it was a good space saving thing to do.

That’s the original cover, haha, can’t really see them back there, I have the camera at a steep angle.
