It’s been a while so let’s take it easy tonight. You need to purchase TWO vehicles with combined prices NOT exceeding $31,000 (feel free to convert for your market). You can only use vehicles from 2003-2007 . This is one of my favorite periods in the automotive industry and there are phenomenal cars that no one ever talks about that are at jalop levels of affordability. Let’s spotlight some dream cars you can have for real and as always, enjoy yo’selves!

Oh, and no holding on to a vehicle you already own that fits the bill. What would I buy ? Hey, tonight’s about you !

Both are heinously unreliable V8 Fords, but other than that, they can’t be more different. One’s loud, British, brash, and quick. The other’s sensible, Swedish, quiet and conservative. Not to mention they’re on opposite sides of the country. And I want them both.

Not my favorite year but it would do. Just one more year for the facelift which looks so much better IMO. Plus awd was available.

Feeling kind of lazy tonight, but I'm confident I could get an 06 Infiniti G35 sedan and an 05 Corvette coupe for 31 grand. I'd be satisfied with that garage.

Sorry, won’t play, the period you picked is the start of cars becoming slab sided, bloated, digitally readout and control androids, I was shopping for a new/used car a couple years ago and most everything from this era turned me off.

thats the fun part....... we all have our pat answers, for what you can get for $xxx garage....... its a challenge to find the fun stuff in the “less than desirable*” years. *personal taste*

for the fact that these years are so MEH styling wise........ THESE are the BEST challenges........ find SOMETHING good........

2007 Audi RS4, $30,998. + 13% sales tax ($4030), total cost $35,028

2005 Mazda RX8, $4999. + 13% sales tax ($650), total cost $5649.

Total bill: $40,677.

2006 VW Phaeton (alas not a W12, can’t find a good one of those).

And, so that you don’t have to be exposed to any form of discomfort (apart from financial) when the Phaeton breaks, a 2007 Lexus LS460 .
