Oh yeah! Belt came in today and I slapped it on after only a bit of fumbling.

Kinja'd!!!

I found the idler pully laying on the bottom and was like, “uh oh,” but quickly realized that it was held in place by two small notches plus the tension of the belt itself, without which is just goes WHEEEEEEE

Anyway, fixing minor things is always such a joy, especially with a $15 dollar belt vs a new $500 dryer.

Bonus: the dryer was also home to the world’s most successful spider!

Mmmm look at all those hollowed out carapaces! :D

Surprisingly simple those things are, eh? I remember when I tore my first one apart and thinking, “That’s it?” :)

Congratulations on putting $485 in your pocket.

Ours was making a terrible screeching. Replaced all the pulleys, rollers and shafts for like 75 bucks and it was solved, plus full step-by-step tutorials from the company I got the parts from. Super easy to keep these things running well.

That’s great!! My grandparents washer stopped draining out the water. I had no idea what to do. So I called the repair place. Keep in mind they have a washer and dryer from the 80's. The tech that came out was so freaking excited about them and told me to never get rid of them. These old Maytags have like 3 running parts. Turns out a sock got stuck in the line. It was really cool seeing the machine apart.
