Here are a few cars with interesting side mirrors, as the title states.

First up, we have the Mazda MPV with its upside down mirrors.

Kinja'd!!!

Interesting styling detail in an otherwise bland vehicle

Here we have the Dodge Carvan/Chrysler Town and Country with mirrors that DON’T move with the door. It fascinates me.

Kinja'd!!!

Ooooh, cool!

Various Mercedes (and some Audis I think) came with mirrors that are smaller and taller on the passenger side than the driver’s side.

Kinja'd!!!

Why? Because Germany.

The Caparo T1 had its mirrors integrated into the fenders in a clever and unique way.

Kinja'd!!!

Eeeeeeeehhhh ehhhhhhhh vrroooooom EEEERRRRRRRRRRR.

and finally the incredibly clever Ram mirrors that turn into towing mirrors!

Kinja'd!!!

DaVinci himself wasn’t this clever.

So guys, any other unique/cool side mirrors we should know about?

Some base cars didn’t even have a passangers side mirror.

Well, there’s the weird fender tumors on the 4gen Camaro.

The 95+ Cavalier/Sunfire’s mirrors could fold forwards and backwards!

The Testarossa’s mirrors were mounted high, but I think this design was only the first year or so. Then they switched back to regular mirrors

That was pretty standard for a lot of old cars, particularly Japanese I think.

As weird and ugly as they are, the export versions were unforgivable.

I always thought Japanese/Asia market fender mirrors are cool.

Kinja'd!!!

Our family had a 910 Bluebird back in Hong Kong that looked just like that.

Zonda had them that way too, for a while.

Wouldn’t surprise me. Interestingly I believe that BMW didn’t come with AC as I believe that grill is the one that came on cars without AC. BMW part number 51131884350. I know cause I got one from a junkyard when I was back in high school. I never realized how many features we take for granted were options a while ago.

My contribution:

Suzuki Fronte Coupe - It’s a classic 360cc Kei car, it has Japanese fender-mounted mirrors for cool points (hard to see though, yes, haha!), plus also I just dig the speed holes! They really just fit the design style of the car....an excellent little detail. Classic Giugaro. :)

E36 M3 mirrors: So interesting/cool they still make reproductions for ricers to put on their Honda Civics!

the export mirrors probably fold and ours don’t :(

I’d totally put those export mirrors on if I got a 4g Camaro/Firebird! Also, the C5 and C6 Corvette got better tail lights than what we got.

They are nice, and my car actually had them as a factory option in England-land.

They’re not the only victims. Ford Probes also got ugly-tacked on folding mirrors.

I hate ugly mirrors, not folding mirrors. I added folding mirrors to my MKIII Supras.

Literally the only interesting thing about the Vectra in the 90s was the door mirrors.

My ‘99 Grand Am GT had the dual post plastic mirrors that were notoriously delicate and known to be obliterated by car washes.

Our local wash had a special mode for Grand Ams where the brushes would literally go out around the mirrors.

The 95+ Cavalier/Sunfire’s mirrors could fold forwards and backwards!

Knowing the J-Body, that probably wasn’t intentional.

Not necessarily folding, but due to pedestrian safety regulations they have to be spring loaded so they can move back if hit by somebody.

Renault then copied them on the contemporary Espace, or maybe it was the other way around, I’m too lazy to find out.
