Kinja'd!!!

That is now the name of the 1993 Mazda 323 I unceremoniously picked up the other week for $550.

Kinja'd!!!

From the getgo..

Body is CLEAN, despite the underbody seemingly never been undercoated ever in its life after 23 years in Canada’s capital, so its naturally quite rough, but fixable.

Front shocks and brakes need replacing. could as well do a fluid flush as well while I’m at it. maybe also do a rear disc conversion later on if I can find one.

Staggered pizza cutter wheels. (!!!!) tempted to just slap on my Si wheels from my Civic on it for the time being and troll local meets. 155/80/R13's up front with a wider tire with less aspect ratio at the back.

still on the original clutch after 213500 KM, just like my civic. gotta replace that soon.

fuel and brake lines look pretty bad, that’ll be a fun weekend, if they ever need replacing.

and lastly...

Screw you, exhaust leak. You obnoxious bugger. makes it sound like my Honda on higher RPM and a gokart while idling. Since the civic’s been off the road for almost 4 months now, PTC is on hold until I can scoop up the engine. this car seems like itll work a treat to pick it up.

Wait, are the tires supposed to be staggered sizes or are they just because that is what the previous owner did...?

he said he got the cheapest Canadian Tire specials he could find. the staggered size puzzles me though

Nice pickup! Like the 323s. I have pizza cutters all the way around on my Euro Spec Diesel 323.

those bumpers look tiny compared to my Canada-spec one. it cleans up the design so much.

My old roommate had a $600 CDM 323. Good beater.

Enjoy those brake lines!

it was definitely designed with the short bumpers. I always forget the US and Canada spec ones had the park benches. I got lucky I snagged this one off Craigslist in New Jersey.

It’s always good to have more 323 content. Here’s my GTX (and Miata).
