So McLaren has limited editions of their most limited production car. Ferrari has limited bodystyle production of their most limited production car. Why is Porsche treating the 918 like it’s a Lexus LFA? Where is my coupe, my S, my GT, my all Electic, my RWD-V8-only Carrera model, my 918 Turbo, my Celebration of 918 Hours of Production Anniversary Launch Edition? I’m thrown off by the lack of special versions considering the brand, the market, and the parent company.

See, see, that’s what separates the LFA and 918 apart. If they do what their tiermates do, they’ll be no better.
What Porsche didn’t do, however, is realize the 918 RSR concept, which could have been a faster car than even the P1 LM. They missed an opportunity there.

It is very unlike Porsche. For the best though, those editions are the devil
