Which means both of my next door neighbors drive gray, crew cab, F150 XLT FX4s.
Main differences are that this one is lifted and had the V8, while my other neighbor’s is the 3.5 EcoBoost and at stock height...for now.
I’ll take more pictures in the morning.

Trucks are starting to be proportioned like early diesel locomotives. The hood height just gets higher and higher with each redesign while the roof height stays the same. Eventually I’m gonna walk outside and find this parked in my neighbor’s driveway:

I agree completely, the belt line is much too high on newer trucks. But in fairness to the truck, it has been lifted six inches and I stand at a whopping 5'7, so it does create more of an illusion that there is No Windshield on the truck.

I want to see a concept truck that focuses on practicality and not style. We all know that trucks only need about 10% of the grill for cooling. I think it’d be interesting to see a truck with a (comparatively) tiny frontal area. I wonder what sort of mpg and visibility improvements could be made.
Someone is going to have to buck this trend.

That XLT grill doesn’t do any favors for the apparent height of the front end either.

Way too tall still. Take it down to the colored crossbar.

Beautiful train, but not a new idea.

I guess in terms of design, it has a certain Mad Max quality about it.

The air dam is doing no favors.

Making trucks that look like trains isn’t a new idea. Also provided a reason to post the Futureliner.
