Those angle-grinder wheels are truly brilliant, but I’ve found my angle grinder isn’t quite up to the task. Having to do it in bursts or else it gets worryingly hot. All of that was done after we did another patch of concrete on my dad’s garage. Just one more small slab and some blocks for the inspection pit and the floor’s all done!

I tried to encourage an inspection pit for larger, heavier things in the shop extension here, but the end that would have been most suitable would have much too high a water table from proximity to a small stream and would flood. So then, it’s either putting an inspection pit in one of the near bays instead of the far one and putting in drains (also a huge hit on navigable floor) or forget the whole thing.

Yep :) or rather the mechanical fuel injected 2.5l from a TR6. Same engine, but stroked to 2.5l :)

Bummer :S we’re lucky as we’re 94m above sea level near the top of a hill. Does mean that we need to use twice as much concrete to level stuff though :S

We’re not actually allowed to build one, but if the inspectors come round we’ll say it was part of the original floor ;)

How about a grate-thing over the floor to keep your fet dry and a pump to get rid of the water beneath it?

Thanks, and yeah will definitely be terrifying :S

I've made a lot of changes to the rear suspension which is the main weak point, and the paint you see in the pic above is weld-through primer as i'll be welding the body to the chassis for rigidity :)

Managed to miss this reply somehow!

Both the aggregate for this and for my 9x27 parts shed is all material that came out of the old open-faced garage that we pushed down to build this garage on top of.

Odd construction that. Non-reinforced 4" concrete base (which naturally cracked heavily) and open-faced, but roof made of 5x2 (odd size) spaced really close to each other so way overbuilt and big beefy reinforced brick pillars 3-per-wall.

Really odd place to go overkill...
