You can either get the craptastic, Uber-spec $300 floor mats or you can option up to $1,075 carbon fiber trimmed liner cozies and knock 0.004 seconds off your quarter mile. (Oh no, chrome jack with GT-R logo! So much luxury, I think the GT-R has lost the plot).
At least for $1,200 Acura will include the trunk mat and give you carpet so plush it’ll increase your downforce to the point that car looks stanced above 136 mph.
Luckily we have value minded brands like Porsche, which only charges $740 for carbon fiber floor mats with leather edging. Plus, no extra charge for deviations for those ever so discerning swatchophiles out there. Leave it to the Germans to understand the importance of affordable floor mats to the average periodontist!

Maybe they should’ve badged the GTR as an Infiniti? :p

So all these manufacturers agree on the importance of making something out of carbon fiber when it can be removed from the car by picking it up and carrying it out

Well if it helps, Porsche will remove the carbon fiber floor mats for just $575. Not really a DIY job, you know how over-engineered these kinds of things are. Don’t want to void your CPO warranty.

If you knew what I spent on seat covers for my wife’s car, you’d cry

“Knock .004 of your quarter mile”
More like .0004. .004 actually means something.

They are $1,000 floor mats, they better mean some thing! If a hood stripe adds 37 hp, then carbon fiber floor mats must have a huge impact on performance.

Haha oh I totally agree about the price. I just meant they don't actually mean anything. And .004 is a meaningful difference.

It obviously hurt sales to have it badged as a Nissan. Oh, wait, no it didn’t. Turns out most car buyers aren’t that stupid. Here’s lookin at you, Honda.

It kills me that floor mats cost this much. I can’t believe I did this, but when I traded in my crosstrek, I actually saved the rubber floor mats I have with the intention of selling them. So stupid. What have I done!?
