I know many of you get the Wall Street Journal delivered to your doorstep but for the one or two who do not, today’s is remarkable. It has a huge review of my Preston Tucker book.
The WSJ folks were kind enough to review my Chrysler Turbine Car book too, back in the day. I personally think the reviewer missed some of the nuance of my finer arguments in Tucker but the gist of it is this: My book occupies about 3 yards of page space in a national newspaper.
Who cares what it says!?
Here’s a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! which may or may not be behind a paywall.
And

. The article has given it a slight bump in sales.

Steve Lehto has been practicing law for 24 years, almost exclusively in consumer protection and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! He wrote !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
This website may supply general information about the law but it is for informational purposes only. This does not create an attorney-client relationship and is not meant to constitute legal advice, so the good news is we’re not billing you by the hour for reading this. The bad news is that you shouldn’t act upon any of the information without consulting a qualified professional attorney who will, probably, bill you by the hour.

You’re gonna need a big frame for that one.
![]() 07/09/2016 at 16:57 |
|
The tricky part is that there is another half a page on the other side. The frame will have to be twice as big as what you see.

For anybody looking to see the full text, if you go via a
google search
rather than the direct link, WSJ lets you read 1 article for free.

You’re becoming the most interesting man in the world.... attorney, peoples champion, celebrated author....a man whos passport requires no photograph. When you drive a car off the lot, it often increases in value....

Just think about how much $$$ that would cost to advertise there. And they are just giving that away.

Yay you’re famous!
![]() 07/09/2016 at 17:16 |

Yes. I wrote a book about those too (the WSJ didn’t review that book though.)

Most interesting man on oppo! Steve Lehto lives vicariously through himself, and once had an awkward moment just to see how it would feel.. Seriously, awsome!!!!

It’s close between Steve and Oran Sands. http://oppositelock.kinja.com/this-this-is-h…

Oh man, that is good!!!! I don’t know if it’s Steve good though, I heard that if Steve mails a letter without postage it still gets there, and that he once ran a marathon, because it was on his way, also, mosquitoes refuse to bite him, purely out of respect.

My wife Has a clothing company and a few times our local news has asks to do a segment on her. It’s nice getting a free 30 minute advertising campaign every once in a while.

Do you have any of the records for the dealership franchises that existed for the Tucker? There was one in Elizabeth City NC in the ground floor garage at the Virginia Dare Hotel. Its was owned by my Father and Uncle. When the cars needed to go to DC to show the government they came and took away the Waltz Blue one my father had for a demo for part of I think a month. If I recall Dad said he lost more than the average investor because he paid back out of pocket the money people had put down on their orders.
![]() 07/10/2016 at 06:36 |

No, I don’t have those. I’ve heard a lot of anecdotal stuff about them and there were more than a few in your father’s position.

One of my old coworkers here in Ohio had or has a radio for a Tucker. He brought it to work after I told him about my Dad. I think he told me his Dad received the radio and floor mats when he put the deposit on a Tucker. His father was a Cleveland policeman back in the day.

They also sold Tucker luggage. It’s pretty cool stuff.

between you and Ronnie Schreiber (at TTAC) I think you could assemble a complete history of the automotive industry.

Maybe too late at this point, but you might contact them and see if there’s any way of getting a special printing from them suitable for framing - my work has one or two of those hanging in our hallway when we got prominently mentioned for stuff.

There are companies that do that. One contacted me and I told them to get me a price. If it’s not insane, I’ll get it. I have a couple of other ones done - including one which is etched on metal.
