If I bought any car, let alone a BMW, I would never let them leave huge vinyl letters on my window?? Get that shit off my car, I would say.

I think thats a loaner, like for use when your car is in service.

As others have said, I can pretty much guarantee thats a loaner car. Every loaner Ive gotten from BMW had the dealers name and/or web address on the back, though usually not as obnoxious as that one.

Definitely a courtesy car.
Some here do it let conspicuously.

I bought a car once and they put dealer plate frames on with security screws. Luckily I have the correct bit set. It wasnt one of the normal hex or torx with a post, it was a pentagon with a post. Carmax wasnt that bad, just small vinyl letters that I removed with my fingernail. I know of dealerships that do the whole back window sticker on new trucks.

Local Nissan dealer does huge window banners like that. You get free oil changes for life if you keep it.

Hyundai dealers around here do that, even on non loaners. But I think thats a loaner.

Yeah thats why I too notice. This dealer is south of SF while the Marin one would never do this.

Most likely the car was delivered to the BMW dealership, selected as a loaner car, dressed up with the website decal, and the dealership was just driving it on dealer hang tags until they transferred the loaner plates to the car. Happened all the time when I worked at Audi.

I had a friend who was given X amount off the car for leaving the vinyl stuff all over it. Was so tacky but whatevs.
