This also reminds me why I haven’t lowered it properly, because when the Land Rover isn’t around this car has to haul quite a bit of clobber.

It’s at DBM for brake pipes all round and one rear bearing, I only need to adjust the front two rather than replace so I’ll do that this w/e

I did the exact same thing last fall hauling several hundred pounds (because ‘merica) of lawn lime... I even felt the need to share with oppo!

This is why I kinda don’t want to lower the 4Runner. I like being able to load up a few thousand pounds on a trailer and not be on the bump stops.

As HHFP explained in his article on tow ratings in the UK/US, the US seems to prefer a very tongue heavy towing arrangement, rather than the UK which recommends no more than 150kg tongue weight. I often tow around 3 tonnes (6,600lbs), and I balance the weight BEAUTIFULLY across the axles so that the tongue weight is as low as possible, meaning less suspension drop. A properly loaded trailer really stops the Carolina Squat effect on even normal econoboxes.
