Here is a walkaround of the $150 Trailer made from a 1960 Bell Telephone truck, that I bought and am attempting to get functional. Pics below.
I need to figure out who makes/made this latch so I can try and get replacement parts & locks for it.
Think I can get a few more seasons out of these?

Is that a Tardis?

Yep. That is my basement door.

Ooh, drawers! I didn’t know the inside was like that. Very nifty for organizing things, but that kind of hurts the trailer’s versatility, if you wanted to haul large items.
I can’t tell from the video what’s so sketchy about the old coupler, but it looks like one of those annoying threaded ones. The handle-type latch you’re installing will be much easier to use.
Looks like an interesting project!

That is still one of the coolest things I’ve seen someone do to their home.

I don’t really know what I’m doing with it, so I don’t want to cut the drawer racks out yet. If it becomes a chuckwagon trailer they’ll be very useful. If I use it for cargo I will probably remove them.
It was the handle type that had a bolt of the wrong size replacing the handle shaft, no retainer spring and the whole thing is rotated about 5 degrees off straight.

Plenty good enough reason to swap it.
Did the trailer come with a spare tire? And if so, would you still store it in that upper compartment? I see there’s quite a bit of room on the A-frame in front of the box...

The spare is intended to go in the compartment on the left side. At the moment I’m going to rebuild it with the intent of putting the spare there, but if I get a better idea for use of that compartment I can move it to the front or suspend it under the chassis.

Solid buy if you have the time and equipment to fix it. I'm kind of jealous.

Very nice, must be a huge basement...

I probably laughed a little too hard about that.

You bought it! Nice price too!
Looks like you’ve got a lot of work ahead of you, but it will be super cool when you’re done.

That would make a perfect camping trailer.

I love your basement door. Here’s the front door to my house:
Also, that trailer is pretty badass.

The spare tire compartment opening is the perfect size for folded up bag chairs or maybe even tents.

Unfortunately it is only half the width of the trailer, so it isn’t deep enough. Once I remove a baffle at the far end the lowest part of the front compartment(where all the rot is) is prefect to fit a pop-up shade tent.

Nice! If you have a door that is that design you’re almost morally required to make it into a tardis.

I’ve seen that exact latch on truck toolboxes before... Northern Tool lists one that may be a match on their website:

I think that’s a Ford chassis, with an early Ford 9". Could be wrong, though.

Gotcha.
