So this just popped up in one of those gawker ad banners, it’s some kind of Slantnosed Alpine A310. The ad calls it a prototype, though I can hardly believe this is a true Alpine design.

I though I was the only one with that ad in the banner. I don’t how I feel about it but it would look significantly better without those stickers.

I guess it is caused by an ad that was posted here. Your definetly right about those stickers, it’s a bit overdone.
It says it has an H-registration, but wouldn’t that mean the car is fully original?

For the H-registration the widebody is either a factory conversion (highly doubtful) or done in the 80s which would be eligible. Probably the latter.

That explains it! I always thought H-registrations were only given to factory original cars, didn’t know period customizations were also eligible.
Indeed the 80s customization is most likely, because I can find nothing like it, and it does look a bit weird.

It has to be period correct, like you said. That bodykit looks indeed very weird, very 80s.

At least it was someone’s prototype... Don’t the French use the Proto-word for own home build creations?

Yeah I think they do, searching for ‘voiture proto’ gives quite a lot of clearly home built cars. Probably the guy selling it got it from a french guy, and thinks he has got an official prototype.
