1) Because you need a van for transporting kids, goods, whatever

2) Because you can afford to maintain a van, versus the maintenance costs of a 10 year old BMW with 80,000 miles

3) Because you’re smarter than automotive enthusiasts on the internet

I have an irrational hatred of sycamore trim. I don't think I could face that every day.

“Bring your Mechanic with you” ... and he’ll be grinning ear-to-ear because he knows the repair/maintenance costs will put his kids through college

“These Toyatas are okay, but they’ve really gone down hill. If you want a reliable car, you really need the sort of precision engineering that you can only get from the Germans. Have you considered switching to a ten year old M5?”

If you hate reliability, buy this car.

I would try...

After I spent all of my money set aside for maintenance on replacing the sycamore with wood that doesn't make my eyes bleed.

The Sienna would probably make it across the country and back with no issues.

I hate how every listing is like “no low ballers”, “don’t need to sell”. Every time I read something along those lines in a CL or other classified I think “Fuck off...If I want to shoot you an email with an offer less than your listing I’mma do it. Chances are that you do need to sell your vehicle. So I’ll be here waiting with my “low ball” offer after your spouse tells you have to sell it, and that you can no longer wait for your $100k asking price simply because Jeff Gordon farted in it’s general direction one summer afternoon.”

That M5 looks quite nice but I would try to find one with a manual.
