1985 Ford F350 with a 4 speed and 4x4. Cool old truck. Wonder if the school ever sells these things?

Think the university system of Georgia stopped buying trucks in 1996

Awesome. We should get an Atlanta metro oppo meet together.
Have you ever been to the cars and coffee here at the roaster? I always seem to miss it

find the business office, and nag them. they are normally MORE than happy to sell off old used up equipment........ just check to see how proud they are of it.

My dad was with USDA when I was little, and worked out of a joint fed/state cooperative research facility in GA. I have fond memories of getting “snuck” into UGA Fords to go check field plots with dad on the occasional weekend.
I also remember very clearly the research station would auction off trucks every 3-4 years. Lots of dad’s coworkers drove ex-station trucks from the late 70s. I recall the step-side models seemed awfully cool to me at the time. I don’t think the university ever sold them off before 15 years or so. Often over 20, probably.
Keep in mind, these were ferrying Ag scientists and field laborers around rural Georgia. Amenities like aircon were probably not considered important for these trucks to fulfill their mandate. There was a shop that basically kept them fueled and running. Rust and body condition weren’t really an issue unless stuff could fall out of the bed at 45mph.
Thanks for an awesome trip down memory lane!

I'm with the forestry school and we do a lot of traveling out to pine plantation stands and we travel mainly in the ford e-series vans. I've surprised the places we've been able to take those vans. Weve gotten stuck a few times but nothing a few undergrads couldn't push out.
