My laptop fell victim to a plant dripping water (dirty water at that) down onto it from the mantel while we were on vacation.
It actually damaged the plastic of the screen, and at first we thought that was the extent of the damage. When we went to wipe it off we turned it sideways and water just poured out of the chassis. I thought it was dunzo and wasn’t really too upset because I had been saving for a new laptop anyway since this one is from I think 2010. I would’ve been without a computer for a while though.
We let it dry on its side for a couple days and used some headlight lens repair stuff on the screen (which to my surprise actually fixed it.) Turned it on this morning and it fired right up like nothing ever happened.
Camaro to keep it car related?
The only issue is that stain/damage you see in the bottom right corner of the screen. Little annoying but still better than being without a computer at all. I think we can take the screen apart and maybe fix it.
I’m still replacing this heavy 17inch dinosaur though.

My mom watered it right before we left, probably over watered it and the water the dirt couldn’t hold went out the hole in the bottom of the pot and filled the plastic thing it sits on and overflowed it.
At least that’s my theory.

Cool that it works for now. I just wouldn’t bet on it long term though.
I once left a roof light open over night and a light drizzle formed a small puddle right on the home button of my phone. I dried it out and it worked fine. For a few weeks. Until it got harder and harder to charge it.
