Probably lot more than is healthy to want a big old van. It looks a hell of a lot better than the one I briefly had....

I’m trying to format this better, but kinja is fighting me

Buying a van like that is step 1 of becoming a serial murdererist

The purple tint makes it look like a fun house back there!

I have far too much want for a 70s-90s big American van. Not a modified one, just a nice window van that's either semi-camperized like this or still has all its seats

Holy crap. That is a murder van. Or at the very least, a kidnapping van.

And this is why I love Oppo. Everyone I know would look at me like I killed a kitten and ask “Why?” in the most disapproving tone possible. I love big old vans. I recently saw a mid ‘90s GMC Vandura 4x4 that was lifted for sale...I really wanted it.

Wouldn’t take much to make that into a Possum Van (shown here making applesauce):

Which can lend itself to other fun ideas:

Pretty much everyone I know doesn’t understand why I like these, but luckily my girlfriend likes them too. There was a lifted 4x4 Vandura for sale around here too, in really good shape. It was like 10k though...

Yeah it’s rather concerning

DUDE! I’m still so jealous of how fucking rust free everything is over there.

Next province I’m moving too will for sure be BC. All this old metal is still like new.

Considering the condition I’d buy that for $2500

I was so thrown but the almost total lack of old cars when I was out east, even stuff from the 90s was starting to look pretty damn rusty. I recommend BC in pretty much every way except cost of living, and traffic, if you wind up in the Metro Vancouver area. I would as well, if I didn’t have a Blazer taking my only spare parking space

I’d move to Vernon more specifically right next to Kalamalka lake. I’ve already decided that that is where I will spend my retirement years.

The roads in BC are SO well maintained it’s not even funny. Compared to Alberta the roads are so amazingly good.

I know cost of living is the biggest drawback. It’s pretty bad in Alberta but at least your salary makes up for it. In BC you get the super high prices with the super shitty income. That’s a lose lose situation no matter how you slice it.

Oh that’s a gorgeous area, solid choice. The roads are pretty great, I learned that when I drove to Montreal as well. But yeah, the income to cost of living ratio is a tough one

Saw a late model Ford E350 Quigley running around Charleston WV (my homestead) last week covered in mud. it was awesome

I'm also jealous of the rust freeness of it all. Living in the salt belt its hard to find anything 15 years old or older that is anywhere close to that clean

Those things are so cool. There was a newer one for sale a while ago but it was like 15k, probably a fair price really

Yeah I imagine, we're pretty spoiled when it comes to lack of rust
