Clever girl...

Every morning, without fail, our family cat lies in front of the dog kennel, waiting to be petted; the same dog kennel that houses our dog who gets super jealous if someone else gets more attention and will whine/bark up a storm. I’m pretty sure the cat has premeditated this.

Anybody else have this kind of dynamic in the household? Also, when ztpjr is awake, all three of them are trouble, lol. “We do not dress up the cat; she doesn’t like it.” “We don’t poke the dog with a kitting needle, why would you even do that?” “Gryps, stop scratching the furniture. You’re scratching post is literally 5' away.” “Zeta, stop sniffing everyone’s butt!”

And to think, we have another bun in the oven too.

Ha, my wife named her. She looked on the back of the Z Gundam dvd and saw “Gryps Conflict” or “Gryps Colony Laser”.

We now have a theme of naming our pets after Gundam related things, :).

One of my wife’s friends lived in our basement for a while after she got divorced. She came with a cat. Our dog is extremely cat aggressive (aka they’ll end up dead-dead if they’re in the same room).

Of course she smelled the cat and proceeded to just start hanging out right outside the door...The cat, in its infinite feline wisdom, decided it was humorous to stick its paws out under the door and cause a massive dog freakout and subsequent dog punishment.

Came home a couple weeks after she moved in and it sounded like a demolition team was downstairs. Turned out the dog had scratched her way 9/10s through the bottom portion of the door (it was past the hollow core) and was running and body checking it trying to get through. Ended up having to replace the door (went with solid core and a metal kick panel, just in case, along with a metal runner so cat paws couldn’t sneak under).

The cat's evil plan was a success.

Cats are hilariously sneaky. Sometimes not so much.

My parents cat wasn’t allowed to scratch the furniture, he also got in trouble. Then he decided “screw it” and while my mom was watching tv, went to the rug and started ripping it up in full view of her.

When we got married, we got a homemade quilt from her mom; it was black and white. MrsZtp really wanted a dog, so while searching for a collie or sheltie, we found this adorable 6 month old kitten that just happened to match the quilt. We bought the kitten. MrsZtp was still dog searching, and she found a CL ad with a puppy, 5 months old, that matched the cat and quilt. It was fate... or something.

Actually, a few months later we found out MrsZtp was going to be pregnant with our first child. I made a joke at work that it would be funny if the kid would be black and white. I got scolded by my coworkers. Lol.
