I know it’s probably been discussed to death, but the latest episode was the first one so far that didn’t make me want to...
Admittedly I’m still not a fan of Evans, and as much as I love the Hoonicorn, that film had no purpose. (The premise; “show me the sights of London” was too thin.)
That said (and I’m not sure if this is due to the writers, the presenters, or both), Chris Harris and Rory Reid’s films were EXCELLENT. They’re hands down the best presenters they’ve had so far.
Is that a faint glimmer of hope that I see? Probably not.

Well, the hoonicorn episode was as useful as many other TG episodes :)
It was a very watchable episode. I LOVE Chris Harris’ but he should really get much more camera time. Heck, he should be the one leading this show. He has an attitude toward cars he doesn’t like that I really share... This “Meh, I don’t know, I mean, I’m very sorry, I wouldn’t touch with a stick, but whatever rocks your boat!” attitude is something I like watching and that I find funny... That, and he is also the most capable, truly enthusiastic and skilled presenter in the entire new TG cast :)

I really enjoyed that episode, like all of it. Even the SIARPC part that I hated about the old show. More of that, please & thank you.

I disliked it. I wanted to start on a “good” episode. It still wasn’t very good. Sabine should be their “tame racing driver” and not be treated like a host. The problem with o many hosts and not enough segments like the news or cool wall is it makes the episode feel like a bunch of segments pasted next to one another with some cheap glue. They’re there, yeah, but there’s no reason to watch “Top Gear” when you could just watch the clips of harris and reid and the hoonicorn. Without any good interaction I found myself not really drawn in at all.

I guess for me many of the other “show off a car or a peice of tech” films usually had a more... direct premise. “Is X faster than Y? Is X the best way to do Y?” This was just a continued play on the “Matt LeBlanc is an American” bit, which I was pretty sure we covered in Episode 1.
Harris absolutely could use to do more films, but I’ll suspend judgement on him hosting until he gets more studio time on the big show. I will say that he did seem to give the other presenters more to play off of, so that’s a plus.
Honestly, once I found out he wasn’t a featured presenter next week, I was a little sad. Here’s to hoping it’s not another terrible episode.

I do think you’ve nailed one of the issues the series is having; there’s not any coherence to the episodes. The hosts don’t build rapport, They go from one bit into another... I mean I have no idea what kind of cars any of the presenters like, other than the Reid was a big fan of the RS and Harris likes things that go fast.
My patience is wearing a little thin, but at least those two offered a glimmer of hope for the series.

I still think that section is pretty clunky, but this episode proves that it’s really all about the people you bring in to that segment.

I propose that for increased entertainment value Chis Evans be mandated to wear a closed face helmet for all on track activities.

I’ve watched the 1st episode (was good til the stars in cars segment, then sucked hardcore), but haven’t felt the desire to watch the 2nd or 3rd.
I have a 4 day weekend, so I’m sure I’ll check the 2nd and 3rd out

I’m liking it more and more... But before I liked the hosts 50% and the cars 50%. Now I like it 90% because of the cars and 10% of Matt LeBlanc.

You guys are so spoiled. I think it makes you snobs. I am just happy to have a show with cars that makes me feel like I am not the only one who enjoys them.
Also did chris really puke or was that fake?

Stars was entertaining if you find Kevin Hart relatively funny.
Block/Leblanc on mute isn’t a terrible idea. The Hoonicorn is so fucking loud.
