Needs a new starter but everything else is good. The guy even gave me a brand new starter with it and helped load up!
Then I found the bad news..
Starter replacement procedure.
Step 1.. Drain coolant and remove radiator.
Step 2.. REMOVE ENGINE??
Bloody Hell!
Oh well. It’s still worth twice what I paid at least and it should be done by Wednesday.

Step one should be “Open beer” ....Always.

Step two: Stand with neighbors.
Step three: Take turns “eeyup”’ing and drinking.

I had never seen a water-cooled lawnmower up until a few weeks ago. Are there any actual benefits to it?

I can’t wait to get to know the neighbors. There’s a dude down the street building a Pro Mod Corvette in his driveway.

It’s new to me too. It’s also a belt drive OHC. It almost seems overcomplicated.

I was so intrigued by it, I even took a pic.

It’s a race, I still haven’t finished my mower, I finally got all the parts together to finish it. So my grass is nearly a foot tall in places, good thing it is really thin thanks to the pine needles.

I have knee high weeds right now out back by the lake. And a Turtle infestation apparently..
What happened to yours?

Now that’s a funky layout!
Mine is laid out like a car.

I blew the connecting rod apart. I got a free replacement motor but I’ve been busy swapping everything out and would have finished but my wife, 6 month old and myself got sick all weekend.

Free is always good. Getting sick? Not so much.
What engine out of curiosity?

Another briggs and stratton from a co-worker. 11hp, same block and everything. I switched over the starter, carburetor, airbox and will change out the flywheel as well since mine was newer and everything was in better condition.

Something about those Briggs engines. I looked at 3 machines before buying this one. Two were re-powered and one had a knock like I’ve never heard before.
It’s odd. Briggs used to be THE engine to have too.

That’s a cool little mower.

Yeah, next replacement will be a kohler or a kawasaki or one of those HF engines. If I could score a deal on a Honda I would do that though.
