As long as he’s not in my apartment, I let him go on his way:

Wow, Trump does his laundry at the same place you do.

He’ll have to figure out how to use the elevator. Laundry in my building is in the basement. We’re looking to buy, and one wish-list item is a W/D in the apartment - not common in Manhattan.

I feel that pain right now. Currently searching and W/D is hard to find in the Boston area too. Apartment searching in general just blows. I’m about to spend my Friday evening looking at places...

They’re really not a problem, at least on the 9th floor where we live. We had an infestation of German roaches (the small ones), but I did a bit of injecting foam in crevices, and sealed some openings, and they haven’t been back. I think what happens is an apartment in the stack, or next door, gets done for roaches and they very sensibly migrate.

There is nothing sensible about a species that can survive a nuclear fallout. Your building needs to go.

We have been looking for more than a year. Our price range is fuck you money to rich guys looking to house their mistresses or their college kids. Everything is either shit, overpriced, or gone before we can get to it.

The rent at the best location in the city in our opinion (74th and Amsterdam, Upper West Side) is $2,650, but of course we don’t have to pay for and insure a car, and everything is fairly cheap if you know how to shop. Sure, most entrees at decent restaurants start at $13.95, but you pick your battles. At any rate, maintenance on these apartments is usually around $1,400, and we can get a cheap mortgage, so our payment after taxes would be just a bit more than the rent.
So we soldier on.
