He had no idea I was racing him. But I still lost. 294 lb/ft from zero rpm is a lot.

How much does a Volt weigh? I wonder if I could take it...

3600 according to google? I’m at 4100 and 280 tq... at 4k RPM, hence the disappointing result lol. That thing leaped off the line

The volt is a measure of electric potential . Electrical potential is a type of potential energy , and refers to the energy that could be released if electric current is allowed to flow
E=MC^2
E/C^2 = M.
You can derive the mass of Volt if you know Energy value. C is speed of light.

I think it would leave me behind too... I’m at 42-300lbs and 320tq.

Needless to say you were shocked

I don’t know that I like that whole X tq’s at 0 RPM. I mean, torque is a force, which means F=MA, which requires an acceleration (a) which means it has to be moving, so saying zero rpm would be wrong, because it has 0 force at zero RPM, right? Or am I wrong somewhere?
The Volt is quick off the line, though!

My workplace used to have a Citroën C-Zero (rebadged Mitsubishi i-MiEV). It had only a 40 kW electric motor but the power band was really wide and there wasn’t any any pauses due gear shifting. In 0-60 km/h acceleration it was very quick.
If I only could I always did flat out accelerations with it. I surprised plenty of unassuming Audi driver’s with it as it didn’t look anything that could be thought as being fast in any kind of situation.

Someone had their electrons charged up this morning.

You don’t need to be moving to have a force or moment. Imagine you press your hand against a wall.. just because you’re not moving it doesn’t mean there isn’t a force. Or when you torque down a bolt it’s kind of the same thing.. you are applying a moment but not necessarily turning the bolt.
It can have x torque at 0 rpm but it won’t have any power since power = torque * 2 * pi * rpm

Ah, there we go. Thanks!

The Volt in sport mode can be pretty peppy. Easily my favorite thing about mine.

Mine was totaled last week. I miss that thing. I now have options to get a new car, and I;ll be damned if I don’t want another Volt. They are REALLY good cars. In Sport, they are quick AF to about 40.

You got nothing on me. I’m 3300 and 185tq. I get beat by riding mowers.

Used to drive the family minivan... 3800/210, roughly the same boat.

I think our minivan made like a torque. Maybe two.
