Few months back I took my car in for inspection. None of the wheels have been removed since then. Recently went out to check on a squeaky sway bar bushing and this is what I found.
Wheel 1 (same as wheel 2 and 3) top.
Wheel 4 bottom.
I’ll let you decide what happened.
(And no, the rusty ones aren’t even the same size as the others).

How did you get the locking lug off? Did you have the key, or did you have to improvise?

I have the key. And I gave them the key when I took it in for inspection and said “here’s the lug key” . What’s odd is for va inspection they take off one front and one rear wheel so they HAD to have used the key on the front wheel.. unless they only checked the rear and lost two nuts?

Somewhat off topic, but locking lug nuts are completely worthless. A bolt extractor will remove it like its a regular nut, it only slows someone down by about 5 seconds or so. The only way they could be useful is if all of your lug nuts are of the locking variety.
I had a buddy with locking lug nuts on his jeep who lost the key. He called me because he knew I had easyouts in my tool chest. I showed up with a cordless impact wrench and removed his locking lug nut about as fast as I can remove a normal one. All I had to do extra was swap the socket to remove the other 4 lug nuts. I had the wheel off in under 30 seconds.
