Thanks Jesse Lacey for creating one of the greatest band rivalries through songs of the 21st century.
And here’s John Nolan’s take on the incident. A bit of an end of an era here.

Knew it was coming, still a bummer.

#teambrandnew
Don't they have a new album coming out soon? Couple new singles recently.

I hope they do. And yeah, I’m totally Team Brand New. Having your GF cheat on you with a band member, and then being told to GTFO because you can’t get over it is one hell of a dick move.

Interesting. I had no idea they were even still around, though I did listen to Your Favorite Weapon on my old iPod while mowing the lawn the other day. Usually I listen to Tell All Your Friends while doing the lawn. I knew about the incident (it’s pretty clear if you’ve ever listened to both songs), but somewhere around 2005 I stopped follwing both of these bands. If they do a tour before the end here I’ll have to go out and see them for nostalgia’s sake.

Somehow I never heard of Brand New since this year. That album
The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me
is awesome.

Have you listened to Your Favorite Weapon?

I haven’t. I did listen to Deja Enteandu once and it didn’t immediately grip me

Deja Entendu was okay, but Your Favorite Weapon was actually pretty great.

Unpopular opinion: I love Daisy. It took a solid 5 years before I was at the right place in my life to enjoy it, but now I love it (along with their other albums).

Thanks I’ll give it a shot!
