Because Comcast is absolute crap I had to wait 6 days for someone to come and “install” internet at my new house. I got the warning text that I’ve nearly blown through my data limit on my phone with 11 days to go. Now to consume all the internet.

They cut mine off once because of some issue on their end and tried to charge me $50 to turn it back on again. I called to get the $50 removed from the bill (successfully) and they charged me $6 for speaking with a human. Comcast blows.

I have to call and argue with them. They charged me a $50 installation fee AND a $100 installation fee. I always do the surveys and give 0's

Ayyyy Comcrap hate thread!

Had my modem (that I own) disconnected and denied access even after calling customer service for uploading data through torrents. Basically given a 6 hour timeout for sharing bittorrent traffic...

However, the call resulted in a tech being scheduled for Saturday because ‘my modem wouldn’t respond to their system’ so they want to check the wiring in the building.

Too bad the new cable company in town (300mbps/20mpbs for $75 a month) only offers service across the street...

Comcast is awful. I had to wait for a week for the install when I moved. Then 24 hrs later it was disconnected because,”something at my house was degrading service for neighbors around me”. They didn’t even knock on the door to tell me they were disconnecting it, or to troubleshoot it. They just left a note on the door. I was home that whole day. Then I had to wait almost another week for someone to come troubleshoot the problem. I could tell you more horror stories that followed, but I’ll save both of our time.

I think anyone who has had to use them has at least a handful of horror stories.

I’m stuck with them as well, but this is because the county has an exclusive franchise agreement with them, and they haven’t bothered to do much of anything. My only other option is AT&T nee Bellsouth DSL at 1.5MBps downstream (because I’m in an unincorporated part of the county)

I mean, it’s not like the infrastructure is buried (all ours is aerial), so they would have easily been able to string the fiber up (getting the space from Cobb EMC might have taken a little doing).

I feel really bad for anyone who lives in an area where Comcast is the only provider. We’ve got U-Verse here and it’s the bomb. Plus, Google Fiber is coming to the area, which I’m quite excited about. Oddly, they are going one street over but not mine, and that sucks.

Google fiber is coming to my area but I don't know if it'll come to my house. My friend will be getting it

My friends, and my not-friends will be getting it as well.
