Saw this outside my building. Slushbox. I’d do NCoCP, but I think we all know the answer.

TIL A Mustang II is actually worth something to someone.

On the other hand, the almost all original Mercury MaverickIMeanComet that was for sale in my town with a Marti report included and some nice add-ins was slightly less Crack-ey at $7k. Slightly.

Nearly 6 years later ... wonder what happened to it?

I’ve softened my stance on these over the years. I still don’t like them but someone has to preserve them.

I suppose it’s worth it with 45,000 on the clock.

Eh, I’d go $2,500 ... but I drove a nearly identical car back in the day. You would not even want it as a weekend car.

Have you always wanted a Pinto, but thought it was too fast and cheap? This base 4cyl automatic Mustang II notchback, at $7,000, may be the one for you!

My high school counselor had one, and I drove it. You sat low, as if in a sports car, but you were clearly not in a sports car. The steering was a mere suggestion, the brakes felt as if they didn’t have a power booster (they did). Zero to sixty in ... an afternoon? And a back seat suitable only for double amputees.

Ford had a lot of nerve slapping a Mustang badge on this thing. Call it a Fairlane, a Falcon, a Fascist even (Henry Ford loved Hitler, at least for a while). I take my $2500 back - $1500 at most.

No. As the past owner of two of these POSs, they aren’t worth preserving. I wouldn’t give more than $1000 for it.

CP. That’s a $500 car if it runs and can be registered.

Call the guy and say, “Can you come down by a zero?”

This is nearly six years ago, and I’m guessing he either took a lot less or still has it.

It is a nice specimen. I had one once with a 302. I don’t remember how I came to own it.
