Several weeks back, I chanced upon a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , considered to be the second generation of the machine (h/t to TractorPillow). That was a neat car, but for me, this is even cooler. This is an original Viper RT/10 roadster, the first of the breed, produced from ‘92 to ‘95. This car is as raw and as savage a driving experience as you can find, so they say. Certainly, one look at the comically barren interior or under the hood at the massive 8.0 V10 leaves me with no trouble believing that this snake is a man-eater. The main safety features are the fire extinguisher and some beefy 3-point harnesses. Screw safety, this car is good for your spiritual health.

This car is beautiful but those wheels have not aged well.

True, but I could never bring myself to replace such distinct original wheels.

It’s much more complex than you think; after all it can turn into this with the push of a button.

The Viper has power steering so I don’t really consider it an unfiltered driving experience.

Your picture isn’t working but I’m gonna guess it’s got something to do with the TV show Viper.

I actually didn’t think it had power steering on the 1st gen, but either way I’d consider that barely filtered.

Crap, but yep you’re right it was the car from the show

Definitely power steering. Little changed mechanically until 2001 with ABS. Otherwise the only thing more raw about a GEN I over a GEN II is the interior, the way it drives is really the same other than having a little less hp. I drove my friends gen I and it felt just like mine. Sorry to be a Debbie downer, I just have to give the trophy to the Lotus Elise or something like that when it comes to pure driving experience.

I guess “savage” is maybe a better term than “unfiltered”, although I do recall you saying that from your experience they are actually fairly easy to drive at high speed. Maybe that was someone else, not sure.

Savage! I like that, nice. They are easier to drive when you’re pushing it hard and fast. The scariest part was coasting at 60 on a bad road because the tires are so big that every crack and change in the road makes the car kinda veer to one side or the other. That was really the worst part of the car as a daily driver. If you drove it to work like you drove it at the track then it'd be perfect haha.
