So in researching another article,
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I found this promo video for a armor plated Discovery.
Which I guess shows how big (and profitable) a market there is for such a thing. I love the way they ‘fuzz’ out the number plate...
Down the same rabbit hole it would seem the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! had a fondness for Range Rover Classics.
Allegedly, even commissioning a batch in 1997 (two years after LR officially stopped making them), as the replacement P38 was not to their liking. Before moving onto Discoveries.

Just another reason to buy another RRC before they get stupid expensive I guess...
Of course, there is the actual military Land Rover (although generally being phased out, it would seem).

I saw this ex-MOD Defender yesterday and badly wanted to show it to someone. It's already banged up, which I see as a plus, since you don't have to feel bad about abusing it.

5-6 years ago you could pick up just about any average RRC for $1-3k, with soft dash LWB’s going for under $4k in great condition. Most of them in my area now are significantly more than that, if you can find a decent one. I don’t even want to tell you how many I could have bought when I worked at the rover shop.

Really rare to see a military 90. He daily drove it too, which is pretty keen.

Yep, it was always going to happen with such an iconic vehicle. Here the middle years are still cheap enough, but the early and late ones are appreciating pretty quickly.

I know, right? I wonder how much extra he'd charge to be my friend.

No kidding. I’ve never really thought of them as iconic, just shitty in a loveable way, but my opinion doesn’t matter when it comes to vehicle value. But at the time I hated them because they were a daily PITA.

Iconic in the scheme of things. First luxury 4x4, and good styling. Also shitty in a loveable way though.

Oh I know they are iconic, and why. I just don’t “feel” like they are. My history with them is negatively biased after all.

Oh man, I’d DD the ever loving shit out of that. I’d probably have to sell a couple of my cars though... hmmm.
