I like the Oldsmobile Silhouette.
I don't know why, I don't know how, but this stupid looking van has a charm that I can't resist. Hell, if I were to succumb to minivan disease, this might be the only one I would choose.

Admit it, you like it because it looks like a space ship. Specifically, like a type 6 shuttlecraft from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I haven't watched TNG, but I will admit the Sci-Fi B-movie influence is definitely a contributing factor.

But the Aerostar was based on the space shuttle!

My mom had a 2001 that looked like this, I hated that thing.

But the Trans Sport was available with a 5-speed!
(That might have been a European-only option, though. And I think you couldn’t get the 3800 to go with it.)

Design-wise, they are cool. Practically and safety-wise, I wouldn’t want something that old. Well, unless it was an AWD Mazda MPV, but even that’s a stretch nowadays.

Wait until you get behind the wheel of one of those ankle breaking pieces of shit. I’ve driven a couple of them, and they are hands down the worst vehicles I’ve ever had the misfortune of being behind the wheel of, and I’ve driven some real crapboxes. If somebody tried to give me a DustBuster van, I’d tell them to get bent.

Wasn’t there also a diesel option in Europe?
Also, Morrow’s Racing (now sold to some other team) RaceVan in LeMons had a manual-swapped supercharged 3800 and COMPLETELY DOMINATED Class C.

They made a heck of a tow van. Ours could do a 1000 mile day towing at 75 mph at 16 mpg coming back fully loaded from endurance races! Quiet, comfortable and fast.
Granted, if you live in a rust state, their time has passed. They’d be shiny on the top side, rusty underneath.
