Place these FIVE vehicles in order of LIGHTEST to HEAVIEST. Models are from the ranges of the Cadillac CT6, BMW 3-Series Sedan, Lexus RC Coupe, Hyundai Sonata, and Ford Escape SUV . All have 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engines. Give me your best guesses and let’s see how close you can get to the correct order BEFORE looking their weights up!

The Lexus is a fatty, I may have the Caddy and Ford backwards.

I know the Caddy is light, so I wanna say it’s the lightest. No clue on the others.

Yep, only the Ford and Caddy threw you off. Great job though!

Whew. I know the CT6 is light for what it is so I was a bit worried about the 328xi being heavier despite its much smaller size as it has awd. I’m glad that isn’t the case, for BMW’s sake.

It’s not quite so light. But for a big car, the 2.0T actually makes a lot of sense for its weight.

Sonata, 328xi, Escape, CT6, Lexus? Pretty sure the lightest and heaviest are right, and guessing that the middle 3 are all pretty close

Wow - I realize you posted the HP ratings above, but I would guessed the spread would have been a little bigger. I'm also surprised that the Lexus isn't even heavier...

I find it very interesting that the RC weighs about the same and only has 9hp less than my old SC400 with a 4.0 liter V8. I don't think we give new cars enough credit because that's its base engine.

Remember that these are the 4-cyl options. You add over 100 lbs with the 6-cyl, and another 150 lbs with AWD. So you can get an RC into the 2-ton club without issue. You can also get the AWD vehicles in a much lighter form as well without losing that power.

Good point - I live up north, where the RWD BMW/Lexus are unicorns. I feel like people think of the RC as a coupe version of the IS, when it’s closer to being a coupe version of the GS, at least weight-wise. Most of the RC's running around Chicago are RC350AWD, and pushing 4,000 lb.

I accidentally saw the Sonata was the lightest, but I didn’t see what came after.

Sonata, 3-Series, CT6, RC, Escape
