It was just a chrome oval that would bother me while driving with the reflection.
Now it’s like a car on a low budget daytime TV show where they remove the badges from all the cars.

Yup. It’s a common fix for the cruise control, they all get messed up, they melt in the sun. Costs $80 to replace.

That exact same thing happened to the cruise control in my explorer, they changed it to hard plastic buttons in the next gen, guess they realized that the design they used wasn’t very durable.
