Pulled into the local Kwik Trip last night to fill the 3 with some much needed 87 octane and *sniff*.... it smelled more gassy than normal.
As I start to fill up, I notice that the ground underneath this very-nice-for-Wisconsin-and-not-rusted Bonneville seems to have a puddle underneath. It had been raining, but not THAT much.
I finally put two and two together, and caught this epic facepalm on camera.
Not sure if she forgot how to find the hole, or had a leak in the tank, but DAMN. She done fucked up.

Did you alert her to the situation?

Yeah, I think she knows.

Could be that her fuel filter/line is punctured or rotted. I'm always kind of amazed how those things are often just sitting under the car, almost fully exposed to the elements (or vandalism).

Cleaning brake dust off the wheels?

You’d be surprised. Never underestimate the power of stupid.

She seems to be literally face palming in the photo, though.

I only have one word.
How?

Then again, I guess I can’t technically fault her since I nearly did the same thing on a scooter.
The end result got the clerk to come running out to see me standing next to an Aprilia who’s exhaust pipe was smoking.

I'm on my phone.

Fair enough. I am too. I wouldn't have caught it if I wasn't looking for it after reading the caption.

I’m going to go with rusted through fuel lines. Even considering how clean that Bonnie does in fact look.

I genuinely feel sorry for this lady. Hope the fix isn’t too expensive.

The joint in my overflow tank on the Z was old and cracked. I couldn’t fill it up past 3\4 until we took the whole thing out and replaced it. I had an interesting discovery like that shortly after I bought it.
