Never drive through Montreal. Ever. Although 1400 kilometres later, I will admit it was a fun road trip. Just... man, fuck Montreal. I can totally see where Alissa Walker is coming from.

Montreal: Toronto, but French.
Sidenote: I’ve never been further east than Taber, Alberta. Toronto might actually be paradise or something.

I’m from Toronto. Montreal is nicer, but absolutely abysmal for driving, whereas Toronto is merely awful.

I’ve driven in Montreal. The Rue Sherbrooke seems to continue for about half an hour but apart from that peculiarity it seemed no worse than any place else.

The issue for us was all the construction, random lanes ending, and lots of traffic. It being on an island doesn’t help, since all the bridges are falling apart and are often clogged with accidents.

I once had a hotel on that street. I got lost for an hour as I was stupid enough to miss the fact that the street had west and east parts. My hotel was close enough to the turning point that I managed to do the mix up.

I’ve driven in Montreal... did it last summer. It was no big deal to me. There is a greater number of one way streets downtown and they’re doing tons of construction after a couple of decades of neglecting roads and bridges that have become dangerous.
