Wait, safety image.
MAX VERSTAPPEN WINS!!! HE FUCKING WINS!!! A TEENAGER WINS A REAL FORMULA ONE RACE FENDING OFF KIMI RAIKKONEN!!!
Wow, whatever happened to Kimi’s tires?
Anyway, Fezza’s 2-3, which, just like EL_ULY, is good enough for me.

If the Ferrari was just as fast as needed in Sector 3, it would have been a Kimi win by a long shot. He just was not able to get it around .500 when entering the straight. Fuck, it would be good to see a Kimi win, even if it is a very nice story with Max’s win.

I don’t think it was as much a Kimi’s tires as it was Red Bulls better overall grip. The end of the long straight into turn 1 is the only real place to pass in Spain.
Verstrappen’s car was consistently a couple of tenths faster through the final turns before the straight that Kimi was never able to match. He almost always came on to the final straight .8xx seconds behind Verstrappen when he needed to be at least .5xx behind to attempt a pass.
I’m a diehard Kimi fan and there was lots of swearing from me in this race, but kudos to Verstrappen. He ran a hell of a race.

Eh, that’s fine. Mercedes didn’t score, so any point is good point for Ferrari.
Give it to the kid. He fended off a driver that has been known to chase down drivers hard, an F1 champion. That switch was a godsend.
The biggest waste of the race was Ricciardo. All his moves to Vettel... them poof! Puncture.

And it also proves that Red Bull’s laser-focus on aero is paying dividends for them now. Ferrari might look into that.
Oh, actually, no, I still think Ferrari ran a less-than perfect tire strategy.
