You’re just starting of on your illustrious career and it’s time to buy a compact executive car to park in front of your luxury apartment. You only get one parking space, so what will it be?
Your choices, all new of course:
BMW 328i
Audi A4
Mercedes C300
Volvo S60 T5
Jaguar XE 20T
Cadillac ATS 2.0T
Lexus IS200T
Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.0T
Yeah, no big engine option, you still have student loans to pay! Which one will it be and why?

S60 T5. Because Volvo i guess?

Lexus IS200T - because it’s a turbo gundam on four wheels. It makes the Giulia look sterile.

I hate to be boring, but the A4. If I only have one car I want the one that I know will be able to handle winter.

I like too add a Mercedes Benz B 250, the B Class is all new for 2015.
2L turbo4
7spd dual clutch autobox
AWD
1465kgs/3229lbs
208hp@5500rpm
258lb-ft@1200rpm
0-100kph in 6.7 seconds
dat back seat.
$41,950CAD / $32,422USD in those spec’s mentioned and pictured.

I feel the same about the Volvo, not the sportiest but damn near perfect DD.

Subaru STi. Because reasons.
/Don't care that it's not on the approved list.

The 328 is the only one available with a manual, right?
![]() 05/13/2016 at 23:58 |
|
Nope, the ATS, Alfa and I believe the Jaguar are all manual optioned

I’ll go with the Giulia with a stick then. It’ll almost certainly be the only one there so I’ll stand out, and also because I secretly enjoy having to explain how to pronounce my car’s name to every person I ever meet. (Although if I actually found myself in this situation in the real world, I’d probably get a CPO 987.2 Boxster/Cayman.)

Picking a base model reach car, where you go up a brand and sacrifice the mechanicals for the badge, seems very anti-enthusiast. Focus RS over FWD A4, RS3 over A5, 235i over 328/428i, ATS-V over CTS any day.

The A4, this new one that just hit the market is a phenomenal value and an even better vehicle. By the way, the new Infiniti Q50 2.0T is the least competitive thing I have ever seen, I can’t believe how poorly that car compares with the class. Infiniti shouldn’t have even bothered with that 4-cyl. I wouldn’t have even noticed if you hadn’t of made this post and got me thinking about it.

Probably a 328i. Just starting out so you want to blend in where you need to blend in. Also because I am a little lot biased towards BMWs.

Oh they have most of the bells and whistles, just no big engine. Standard lot models and whatnot
![]() 05/14/2016 at 08:52 |
|
Further proof, I had completely forgotten about it lol
![]() 05/14/2016 at 11:28 |

328, because wagon!

I don’t want bells or whistles or seat heaters or coolers. I want the big engine and the AWD in the lightest possible package. RS3 > S4 > A5/7

The 328 is good to benchmark, then find what you would do differently after that lol

The S60 looks very good...

you missed the VW Golf R, I'll gladly take a golf R, I mean I guess it's not that luxurious but it is luxurious. otherwise I'd take an a4 because I'm an Audi fanboy

Oh there’s plenty of better enthusiast options for the price, this is more about an opinion of the class provided. Like a close friend is looking to buy one of these and wants to know what you would buy off the lot.

YES!

By the process of elimination, I'm going for the Jag.
