Why is it that whenever I plug my phone into an aux cord to play music in my car the bass gets heavily distorted? The speakers don’t do it while playing the radio or CD, just when playing music from the aux cord. It also doesn’t seem to matter which aux cord I use, the type of distortion will change but there is always some sort of distortion on the bass. If it helps my car is set up so that I have to use a double-ended aux cord, meaning that one and plugs into the phone and the other end plugs into an AUX port in the car. Should I just go out and buy a really nice aux cord, if there is such a thing, and hope that works?

My car drops the volume by half on aux or usb input. No solution from what's on forums.

If you decrease volume on your phone does it change?

Have you tried playing with the phone volume in relation to the stereo volume? That can solve a lot of distorted audio issues.

Is there separate equalizer settings per input? Like one for radio, one for CDs, one for aux input?

That’s true, but I also know where to look for them. For example, I don’t golf, but there is one country club near my house that always has cool stuff in the lot.

If your stereo has an adjustment for the aux level, try dialing it back too.

hmmm not to familiar with pandora (weird, i know) so maybe lower the in app volume as well as the phone volume.

you might want to try Google Music app, it has a built in EQ. And it streams too.

It’s the Bose system in an old Audi, I lowered the in-app volume and it seems to have done the trick.

I use google music because i had a bunch of songs on my laptop and it was able to import everything. much better than itunes!
