On the US site, it looks like you can only configure a 4C.

I'd probably rebadge it as an Infiniti G37 just to be safe. Also: Extended warranty (Because Italian)

The Giulia also isn’t in the British configurator. Try this: http://m.carconfigurator.alfaromeo.com/de_DE/Giulia/d…
Yeah it’s on German, but I hope it’ll work.

Extended warranty is a must. I read somewhere that they developed the Giulia in under three years. This is kind of a make it or break it vehicles for the brand. Also, why not Q50?

Google translator is far from the best but it’ll get the job done.

Because I prefer logical nomenclature...G-series...3.7 litres...G37. The German firms went crazy with it and everyone else followed the trend. I say if we’re going to make things up, why not use real names? That’s something the Italians are thankfully very good about.

What’s it with Johann DeNysschen or whatever his name is with nomenclatures that don’t make sense. First Infiniti and now Cadillac. I also like nomenclatures, probably even more than some stupid names some manufacturers come up with.

Wasn't he at Audi before Infiniti? Or BMW? I can't remember, but this is his third stint at the naming insanity :D

I think Audi. But Audi’s nomenclatures are ok, at least imo. But what he did to Cadillac and Infiniti is quite confusing.

Yeah, the Audi stuff wasn’t as egregious, but it’s still confusing to me why we need an A3 sedan, A4 sedan, A4 Allroad/Avant, A5 coupe, A6 sedan, A7 sedan-or-whatever, and A8 sedan, to say nothing of all the crossovers and SUVs. That’s just the US market, where Audi is still a relatively small player. I still have no idea why (marketing-wise) or how (logistically) they offer so many cars that overlap. A4/A6/A8 works fine for me, then just create variations of those to reduce confusion.

It’s actually quite smart. That way they can charge more money with relatively small effort. For example: A4 and A5. The A5 is actually just a A4 coupe, but by calling it A5 and not A4 they can charge a premium. BMW followed by renaming the 3 series coupe 4 series as well as Infiniti with the Q60 replaceing the G37.

Anyone know how much this car weighs? 180hp in a modern sedan seems fairly slow, my 280zx puts out around that number and it is most definitely slow

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I always found it deceptive. Like walking into McDonald’s and they have a shorter, fatter, different colored cup called “Medium PLUS” for an extra 20 cents, but no more fluid. But I’m weird — the Passat CC downright pissed me off when it came out, then they dropped the “Passat” from the name so they could help justify the (relative) premium. Customers amaze me.

I hate when people believe that. My classmates debated with me that the 4 series and 3 series were totally different cars! Ugh..

Very similar to yours with lighter colored wheels and red interior.

The Giulia is supposedly light for its class. The base engine got around 147hp, which is quite acceptable. Diesel engines also got lots of torque. In contrast, the base engine for the BMW 5 series in Germany is a 150hp diesel...

A family friend had an Alfa 159 in gunmetal grey with the larger wheels and a red interior. It even had Alfa logos embroidered into the headrests. I would’ve had that cars babies. He sold it and bought a golf then a polo bluemotion because it was too unreliable :(

And I actually thought that Alfas got better over the years:( The 159 is such a sexy car though. My dad’s co-worker had a Alfa Romeo Coupe and after that a Alfa Brera. Oh boy those were so damn good looking.

It never had a major mechanical issue to be fair just loads of smaller problems that stacked up. Plus the nearest Alfa dealer was a fair distance away so going to get those niggles fixed was a pain. He had a 156 before the 159 which was pretty trouble free though. It was a brilliant looking thing though.

Well, it only made sense for him to get rid of the 159. But getting a Polo Bluemotion (3 cyl Diesel ?) as a replacement is quite a step down.

Yeah its a shame. The polo is a good car but nothing on the Alfa. I thought he’d have gone for a Lexus IS, 3 series or even a top spec mondeo instead. He had a golf 1.6 between the 159 and the polo which he didnt seem to like at all.

The Polo is good, the three cylinder diesels aren’t. VW only offers 3 cyl diesels since the facelift of the Polo which is why my friend hurried to get the 1.6 tdi. He should’ve got a Mondeo.

Ah I’ve never been in the diesel ones haven’t seen said family friend since they bought the polo. A friend has a 1.2 petrol which is a little rough but fine.

It’s rough as you would expect from most three cylinders plus being a Diesel.. I wouldn’t want one. The 1.6 tdi though is brilliant.
