!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Completely unmolested collector-level FD, priced pretty reasonably, if you ask me, at $25k. Though, the seller claims that the car is “Rarely over 4000 rpm”, which seems like madness.
On the other hand...
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Apparently it has the rebuilt motor, but it “could use a fender” - whatever that means. The missing nose badge is also slightly concerning. Collision? Advertised with one partially obscured photo at $2800, and “NEED GONE”! I bet he’d take $2300. Have values really come down that far, or is there something else going on with this RX-8 that we’re not seeing? I’m guessing the latter.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but I’ve always loved how they look and how they drive, and I have a tax return still burning a hole in my pocket....

In regards to the RX-8, its both. They’re a hell hole and values ar utter crap. You can pick one up in my area for under 3-4k with ease

The first looks gorgeous, but I have to imagine there is a lot wrong with the second. RX-8s are probably close to the bottom of their depreciation curve, but that still seems low. I wouldn't bother. Something doesn't smell right.

Beware, their natural habitat is the mechanic’s garage.

Having just helped a friend put an engine into an RX8 (its fourth), I can say that the bottom’s cost is closer to the top’s in the long run.

Looks like the RX8 is taking a bite out of a hand.

I couldn’t get a picture, but I saw a few RX7, like that one, but with a Viperesque body kit yesterday. It was hilarious. Now that I know it exists, I will find it again for a pic.

I’d probably snag the rx8. But thats just because I have devoted a significant part of my life to keeping my current one up and running. I can diagnose and fix most issues they throw at me.

Ach - that’s tragic. The last thing an FD RX-7 needs is a body kit.

Yeah, you know, I linked your excellent RX-8 buyer’s guide from a couple of months ago above. I was wondering what your take was, so thanks for chiming in.
I might call this guy and see what the deal is - I mean, if there are relatively easy and straightforward issues to deal with, it might be worth a flyer for that little money even if it is the dreaded ‘04 model.
I’ll update if I find out anything interesting.

I saw it and it took a few seconds to figure out what the hell was happening. It even said “Viper” on the side, but was not a Viper.

Worth checking out, anyway. If the engine’s actually good, you can afford to fix a lot of other crap at that price.

If you have any questions, ask away and I can probably help out. But yeah, if the engine was already replaced and doesn’t have many miles on it, chances are it might be worth it.
