That side profile looks awesome!

But this 3/4 view looks like they chopped off the rear half of a CRZ’s roof and stuck it on an 86... :/

The rear window looks like an afterthought and the c-pillars don’t really work with the rest of the body lines, particularly the rear quarter panels.

If they can fix that rear end, ugh I’ll be very tempted to trade my FR-S in for one.

Who knows though, it could be one of those cars that looks bad in the press photos but awesome in person...

Needs two more doors and a turbo. Then and only then can i get the wife onboard. We couldn’t get a FoRS because there is no more availability for the three major Ford dealers in our area, and we are not willing to travel to pick up a car that is not a McLaren or Porsche :)

Definitely prefer the C-pillar treatment on the Cross Sport to what’s going on here. In fact the entire rear of that concept seems more fully realized than the 86 Shooting Brake.

But even if it went to production looking like this, I’d still buy it because it’s my ideal car and appearance is something I’m willing to compromise on if all of my other criteria are met.

do you really think your gaining much with that cramped trunk? it cant carry a bike or a big tv or anything more than a bunch of groceries. Hell a dog would suffocate back there as well. Even the bmw m coupe a very purposeful car struggled to carry much in the rear and I know for a fact it couldn’t fit 4 tires in the back. If you want a hot hatch buy a hot hatch. my focus has fit 8 tires inside with room to spare. this car is a huge compromise

The rear half of the side profile is very Veloster-y, and the 3/4 view looks like a mix between a CRZ roof and Mazda3 rear end.

My FR-S can fit a bike, tons of groceries, 4 wheels/tires, 4 wheels with unmounted tires, 4 wheels/tires and 2 front fenders, and plenty of other items. They’re actually much more practical than you’d expect from a sporty coupe. Of course not as practical as a Focus hatch though.

I was just counting. haha There are only 3 connections from the body to the roof: the A pillar at the window, B pillar between the two window sections, and the C pillar at the rear. I could be wrong, because I’m by no means a design expert haha, but I’d consider it a C pillar. :)
