I’ve put 3,000 miles on my 2016 Jetta 1.8t Sport. Here are my thoughts.....
1. The trunk is fucking colossal, I could fit maybe six dead hookers back here. And I’ve put all of it to use also, another reason I’m glad I didn’t buy a FiST.
2. The gas mileage is excellent. I keep bragging about that.....
3. I’m still very pleased with the value. Push start, heated front seats, same suspension from the GLI, Nav, Car Net, Rearview camera and the list goes on. For under $20,000.
4. The Discover Media Nav system is pretty meh. The other features are good though.
5. The cabin is super quiet at highway speeds.
6. The size is perfect, and it still feels much more premium than other cars I looked into in the same price range. People who don’t know shit about cars think it’s a $35,000 car......
7. The sport seats are some of the best seats my ass has ever felt. Even on a 6 hour straight drive, they’re still supportive and feel great. For somebody of my build, they’re perfect. Zero complaints.
Here’s the latest picture of it I have. It’s of the interior and I’ve already posted it. Fuckit, this’ll do.

The seats are one of the things that sold me on our Passat Wagon. Glad they still do that part right!

Totes, more Toyota and less Toyota and Toyota is a good alternate plan also. And maybe more Toyota with that Toyota.

Then I look at the outside and fall asleep.

“I could fit maybe six dead hookers back here.”
Redundant statement. Referring to them as hookers implies they are already dead.
Anyhow, I don’t have any experience with Jettas, but I’ve sat in a Passat owned by a dad of a friend and was pretty impressed with the car.

I kinda sorta agree as far as the exterior goes. I’m trying to liven it up a bit with new wheels or something. The sport model does look more special though.

Well anyway, back to you:
Glad it’s performing as desired! It looks very comfortable and the build quality appears to be quite high.
My sister in law has an ‘06 Jetta manual, and back when she bought it, oh man was it crisp. Also pulls nice because it’s the 5-cylinder, but fuel economy is a little *farting noises* but who cares.

As far as compromises go, that’s not a bad place to start. I have manual seats in my Golf and since I’m the only one to drive it, it doesn’t matter. Somewhat ironically I’ve sat in Golfs with power seats and there isn’t enough headroom.

Agreed, it's not too evident. In my old car, I had a 3 person memory and a bunch of other stuff that totally spoiled me. But I too am the only person who ever drives my car so it's all good.

I guess the Focus does have a couple knobs... But three? Some kind of voodoo German stuff going on here and I don’t know how I feel about it.
Seriously, though: Is that automatic climate control? If not, I really don’t get why anyone strips it. The sensors could not be expensive and that specially-made extra plastic seems more expensive than just putting something better in there. I drove my GF’s car on Saturday and had a hell of a time getting comfortable (and even simply operating the controls while driving). I feel like automatic climate control over the last 1.5 years has basically ruined my ability to fiddle with these things by touch.

All of my cars before this one had automatic climate control. I literally never used it because I like it freezing cold in my car at all times.
Eric @ opposite-lock.com
> jkm7680
05/02/2016 at 23:04 | 1 |
Haha. I put mine down pretty cold (women always turn their side up), but eventually that cold dry wind at high speeds is just not enjoyable. 66° is about right on bare skin.
jkm7680

05/02/2016 at 23:06 | 1 |
Haha, that’s true. If somebody is cold in my car, I just tell them to turn the heated seat on and stop bitching.
Max Ac is literally always where it's set on my car. For some reason I like freezing to death while driving.
