would he pay more than the amount of money companies would lose since rich Gumball morons actually buy the cars?

It all comes down to a pretty simple calculation - is the in-theory-negative press coming from being in the Gumball likely to outweigh the advantages of visibility to the customer base? If we were talking Nissans or even Porsches he might have a point, but I’m not sure a sheik gives one solitary shit if a Veneno like the one he likes was once driven by someone in the act of being naughty.
Given that a lot of supercars try to sell themselves on exclusivity and notoriety, it’s extremely possible that “was clocked at XXX during the Gumball” is a net plus.

Where is this stemming from? Is the Gumball just about ready to set up again?

Didn’t know the Gumball event still existed.

Pardon my ignorance, I learned about Gumball not too long ago. What goes on that would make Chris H. or anyone here hate the event so much?

Well a couple years ago a gumballer killed two people in a hit and run then tried to flee the country. They disobey pretty much every traffic law on on the books with general asshatery and last year Germany tried to kick them out of the country all together
