When it has a fifth wheel instead of a bed.

Usually he can squeeze it just between the lines PERFECTLY. It’s impressive.

And a pretty good parking job too.

That requires some skill, hah.
I’d also imagine it’s hard to avoid not taking everything out with the dually arches.

My view is that these things have gotten bloated. The front ends aren’t functional, they’re merely a statement. Dodge started it, now Ford has mastered it ... those shiny front ends don’t say utility, they scream “I need an intervention.”

I drove an F-350 4x4 dually home one weekend and took it to a family get together. my brother-in-law walked in and asked “What the hell is Optimus Prime doing here?”

Worst offender right here. What the HELL is that grille? Two horizontal bars, a couple of... C-clamps? And is that CHICKEN WIRE in the background? What the shit?

I would of left a note of praise for a job like that.

If I was suddenly gifted with one and was going to use it, I’d have all the chrome painted body color. Including the bumpers.

Yeah, I like the big ol’ Alcoa wheels on the Super Duty and Ram HD. Looks good.

Agreed, I do like the way they look.
Somebody who works at a bus depot that I used to pass everyday had a truck that looked something like this, but lower. Didn’t look too bad!

When the engine ~triples or doubles in displacement, the hauling capacity doubles, the average engine lifespan increases 3/4x, etc.
They’re big but there’s a huge difference still. The 22.5 wheels are a common modification though

It looks great, really. The tires are pretty much the identical diameter as the wheel arches, which is a cool look.

I would do that to any car that has chrome on it. Chrome has no place on most modern cars.

I went by a few of these through car lots at a Ford dealership more than I care to admit. And everytime I always thought “this is just like the Excursion. They didn’t need to make it and they wasted metal and wires that could have went to a more appropriate vehicle.”

You are not wrong. Fuckin’ restomod? - yes, bring on the chrome. Today? Let’s dial it back and perhaps have a few muted chrome strips on the dashboard. And kill the chrome wheels. I fucking hate them.

OH WAIT - just noticed. All those fucking lug nuts (except 8 of them) are completely unnecessary. Sure, belt and suspenders, but eight is enough.

YES. Chrome wheels are the worst. The only thing worse than chrome wheels is shit like this on trucks:

We’ve got a super duty dually at work. It looks cool, but it really sucks at being a truck. Fortunately, we also have an International 4600 with real-truck features that make it a thousand times more useful and user friendly to drive, and still no CDL required.
