Hasn’t gotten that much bigger than the originals, until the most recent gen, especially considering the fact that you will actually have a decent chance to survive a crash in an E36 and up. (Barring the racecars, of course)

I hate these gifs. Why not stick with ONE variant? It’s impossible to see the changes from generation to generation when it goes racecar->coupe->wagon->coupe->sedan->racecar like that.

I mistake new 3-series for 5-series all the time even still. And then the 7-series just look like a sometimes-longer version of the 5... 80-00s, 3 series were very distinguishable. Oh well.

I talked with a BMW interior designer (who has since left) once, and he said that they always pushed for uniformity... Funny how they all look similar now. But at least not Audi levels of same.
