As good a place as any to put this. Prince is solid all the way through, starts to break out after about three minutes.

Not seeing Prince perform will be a big regret to me.

Wednesday night, me, my girlfriend and 2 other friends were talking about needing to see him play, then POOF the next day we learn of his death. Such things get to you on a personal level because Music is an emotional thing.

Prince wasn’t ahead, or behind the times of music. He is timeless, he transcends music now, and forever wherever he may be now.

I tend to skip the first 3 or so minutes of that video. Prince is glorious in it, the rest a bit too generic.

My music tastes are era-wise such that as long as I keep procrastinating everybody i really like have been dropping like flies. Entwistle - gone. Lemmy - gone. About half of AC/DC, out. Shit, I need to go to some mothafuckin’ concerts before they’re all gone.

Well, the rest of it is a faithful recreation of GH’s song. They pretty clearly decided the unique spin to put on it was all down to Prince ahead of time, and it was a good plan. Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty were two of GH’s closest friends and collaborators, so for them to perform their part of the song pitch-perfect and faithfully to how their friend did it isn’t unusual.
