You’ve got a little fleecing station selling cold drinks and souvenirs right on the edge of the crater on Mount Vesuvius. You need to get up there each day and there’s only a dirt track.
What vehicle do you need? A Jeep? Some kind of huge pickup with an enormous V8 engine?
Nah, a Mk1 Panda 4wd is your vehicle of choice.
Bonus picture of Capri (no, not the car)

I saw a TV program (that I can’t recall) that said these things were necessary for Italian and other vineyards.

Same basic idea with the Citroen 2CV. The suspension was designed to tolerate being driven across rutted farm fields without being too jarring.

I love these things. Not as much as the mk2 though.

Seriously? You still have a soft spot for them after all yours has done to you?

The Italians don’t agree. The Mk1, she is everywhere. The Mk2, not so much.

It was only the garbage diesel engine, I still love the petrol cars. I’ve been looking at 100hp Pandas for months having to convince myself not to buy one.

I’d imagine that’s reliability related ...

Hells yes. This is why my twin wireless networks Wintermute and Neuromancer used to be Fiat Lux and FIAT Panda. What a nice little car, and no snorts and chuckles that you invariably get with a Yugo.

Drive across without breaking any eggs in the basket. Bien!

No, now that I think about it, it was the last episode of season 2 of James May’s Cars of the People.

Hellz yes! If there weren’t salt on the roads here I would DD a MkI Panda 4x4! They’d be great in the winter! That being said, I’d gladly DD a Panda 4x4 MkII (petrol version) as well, or the Panda Cross....look at it! :D
