The dealer called me this morning asking what was wrong with the seat cover in the first place. I literally stared at the phone. Told him they took the pictures and the vinyl was peeling. At that point, either his memory kicked in, or he got up and actually LOOKED at the car. Either way, the new cover looks...well, new. As I expected.
And they put 5.1 miles on the car. I would like to know how/why but it’s not worth it. They gave it a free car wash, and I think their detail place is at a separate location. Or a mechanic took it to lunch. Whatever.
Happy 6 is happy.

The way the light is hitting in that picture the paint reminds me of the dark metallic blue GM offered on a ton of their cars in the late 90s/early 00s.

the 5.1 miles was probably driving it to an upholstery shop as most dealers won’t do that type of work. Have a photo of this? Curious as to what your issue was.

Thank you! I really wanted Soul Red Metallic but the only 6 in that color at the dealer was a Grand Touring model. Well out of my price range. :( I like the Deep Crystal Blue, though!

My goodness, that’s the most gorgeous blue.
I feel like I may have mentioned that before. In which case, still true. And if you post daylight pics in the future, I probably won't be able to to not point it out again then, too.

If it makes you feel more confident I haven’t seen this before and I service a Mazda dealer (interior repair) Not to say it’s going to stay uncommon, but I haven’t seen a single case yet aside from this one.
