Today is a happy day.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
All the test came back in the green so my daughter doesn’t have Kawasaki disease and there is no heart damage and her inflammation is receding! This is a huge relief. We all slept through the night even...which hasn’t happened for a few weeks.

Is it insensitive to post Kawasakis?

These are the only good Kawasakis.
(Ok, maybe these...) Glad your daughter’s on the mend! Sending good thoughts her way!

Good to hear. That’s a pretty rare disease too. I remember reading about it on the BBC last year and how Doctors are starting to finally having to rest for it ever again after spending so many decades in the relative dark about it.
Good your daughter was tested for it and good that it came back negative.

Well, she had an echocardiagram to test for heart damage, thankfully there was none, there is still a chance she had it, but that it left her unscathed. The pediatrician we go to has a colleague whos being sued for malpractice because they had a patient with symptoms just like ours who did end up having heart damage due to it. We got extremely lucky.

Damn, wow. Yeah, it sounds like you were quite fortunate. I was just thinking how impressive it was that a pediatrician actually tested for Kawasaki disease.

personally I think it was partly out of fear of being sued...

The way I see it, it’s still a win. Like when a big multi-national corporation sides with “the little guy” in a fight against some kind of law. Are they doing it for altruistic reasons? Hell no. But it’s still beneficial to the “little guy” in the end.
His colleague being sued for malpractice was probably a huge incentive for him to test for Kawasaki, but you still benefit. It’s just a shame that someone else’s child was the one that had to buy for the other Doctor’s ignorance.

hard to say ignorance though, both my daughter and this other patient showed none of the traditional signs aside from a prolonged fever so I can’t say I blame them...but I do feel for that family.
