I returned it for a full refund, no fuss at all luckily. But it’s really a damn shame. The cut was great, the use was easy, and it didn’t spill a single blade of grass. I can’t help but think I just got a lemon of a mower...
I went to Lowe’s and Herm Derper, but nothing tickled my fancy, and HD was out of every affordable mower. Sears has some but none are highly rated. I don’t want to spend five hundred on a damn mower. I’m tempted to just buy another one of the one I just blew up. Is that crazy?
EDIT: thanks to everyone who replied to my last post, by the way

I exchanged an Optima battery today, one cell was bad. It was almost new.

Can you get Etesia or Viking mowers over there? I know Etesia are British so likely not, but Viking are part of Stihl so there’s a good chance. Both brands are widely regarded as two the best consumer mower manufacturers going, at least on this side of the pond.

There’s also the $10 B&S yard sale special, if it doesn’t have to be new.

*whispers* “Echo 58V mower, this is the mower you are looking for
It’s pretty expensive, but it has a 5 year warranty and if you amortize the price over that time period it becomes a better deal. Mine is both light and quiet, and does a pretty good job (gas will always have a little more suction due to the rpm advantage)

I tried that, it is just so time consuming to get a good cut (at least with my grass)

Go to your local Husqvarna dealer and inquire about last years push mowers. I did that and got a brand new last years model with a Honda engine for $160. Never had a problem with it. You could probably do the same if you’ve got any other mower dealer around.

Sorry to hear your lawn mower died. Here’s what I’m currently working with. The rear pto shaft for my tiller was chewed up saturday. The shaft is $150 and the hub it connects into is $100. I’ve put $ after $ into this thing but I guess as long as it keeps running it’s worth it right? It does have a mower deck as well as a snow plow that function fine at the moment, it’s just that I need to use the tiller at this very moment.

My old push mower was a 20 year old hand-me-down Murray from an old roommate. When the body rusted to the point of failure, I replaced it with $50 Weed-eater mower from Wal-Mart. It had been returned, but I have no idea why. It’s been running like a champ for 8 or 9 years. Complicated mowers have more stuff to break. These simple push mowers last forever.

Spend the money and get a good one. You can spend $150 bucks and replace it every 4-5 years(if it last that long) or you can spend $350 bucks and keep it forever.
I bought a Husqvarna 7021P mower. It has a Honda GC160 Motor and has been an absolute dream of a mower.

Amazon yo! Or pawn shop. But you run the moral risk of the one at a pawn shop being stolen.
